Help With The Compaq Web Server
The Compaq Web server has been designed to make finding information an easy andstraight forward process. A clear information hierarchy, navigational aids, asearch capability, and a dynamic Table of Contents have all been provided sothat you can find exactly what you are looking for as quickly as possible.A color-coded banner appears at the top of each page within the main sections of the Compaq Web site. This banner indicates the section of the website that you have selected.
At the bottom of each page in the Compaq Web server is a tool bar. The four items on this tool bar perform specifictasks to assist you in your use of the Compaq Web server.The icon returns you to the highest level home page on the Compaq Web server.
The icon takes you to the search page of the Compaq Web server. Thesearch function allows you to search the entire server for the information you are interested in.
The icon takes you to a Table of Contents for the server. The Table ofContents is hyperlinked so that clicking on a topic will take you directly to it.
The icon returns you to this page in case you need assistance with the functions ornavigation of the Compaq Web server.
The Compaq Web server provides a richly graphical environment, though we have made every attempt to keepimages down to a reasonable file size. Most GIF images are 150x150 and less than 20 KB. A Table of Contents is available to you by clicking on the Contents button on the tool bar. The Table of Contents(TOC) is hyperlinked so that clicking on a particular item will take you directly to it. Information in theTOC is listed in order of the main information categories on the server. The TOC provides a single overview of thecontent and overall structure of the Compaq Web server, making it a very useful navigational aid.A search is available to you on the Compaq Web server to help you quickly locate the information that you are looking for. To initiate a search of the Compaq Web server, select the Search button at the bottom of each page. The search isnot case sensitive.A hyperlinked list of documents containing your search word(s) is displayed at the bottom of the search form. This list displays the number of occurrences of your search word(s). Any occurrences of the search word(s) you have selected will be displayed in bold in each document.
Note: When searching for part numbers, DO NOT include the dash and last three digits of the partnumber in your search as this will result in no hits. Instead, use an asterisk as a wild card after the first six digits.For example, if you are looking for part number 199560-003, search using 199560* instead.
